“We Are Nations is dedicated to developing innovative products to be used by professional and social gamers alike, and we believe we’ll be able to lead the industry with the creation of The Lab,” said Patrick Mahoney, CEO of We Are Nations.
Yesterday, esports consumer products and retail company We Are Nations announced its participation in the formation of esports investment vehicle Nations Ventures. The early-stage private investment fund plans to invest in esports companies by the start of the third quarter of 2020. Nations Ventures will target investment opportunities that not only compete directly with the Nations’ core business, but provide opportunities for collaboration, product and marketing enhancement, and other economies of scale.
"The venture aims to “provide opportunities for collaboration, product and marketing enhancement and other economies of scale.” It’s majority-owned by We Are Nations with other ownership coming from existing and new investors in the merchandising company"
The event, which can be found at Yana.gg and @10milliongamers, aims to say ‘You Are Not Alone’ by uniting people through video games, promoting social distancing and fundraising for COVID-19 relief.
“We grew tremendously last year, but the growth came from places that we necessarily didn’t expect, and quite frankly didn’t come from places that we thought maybe it would,” CEO Patrick Mahoney explained to Esports Insider. “Things came out of left field that were just amazing.”
